Body in river ID'd as missing Arkansas man, 29

FORT SMITH -- A body discovered floating in an Arkansas River inlet in Sebastian County has been identified as a 29-year-old Lavaca man, according to the Sebastian County sheriff's office.

The news release identified the man as Corby O. Campbell, who lived in Lavaca but originally was from the Paris area. Campbell had been reported missing by a friend April 16, the release said.

The sheriff's office received a call about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday that a body was in the water around Vache Grasse Park near Lavaca in the northeast part of the county.

The release said Campbell's body has been sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock to determine the cause of death.

The sheriff's office and Lavaca Police Department were working together on the death investigation, the release said.
