Bentonville traffic on U.S. 62 to slow

Work associated with a $27.7 million project to widen Interstate 49 in Bentonville will require overnight lane closings on a section of U.S. 62/Arkansas 102 for four nights beginning Monday, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 62/Arkansas 102 between Phyllis Street and Southeast Eagle Way will be alternately closed to allow for pavement and overpass construction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily through Friday, weather permitting.

One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during the closings, the department said. Traffic will be closed using barrels and flaggers.

The work is part of a project to widen 3.5 miles of I-49 to six lanes from four lanes between U.S. 62/Arkansas 102 and Arkansas 62.
