A Batesville woman died early Saturday in a vehicle accident in Independence County, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
Ashley Carter, 28, was driving east in the 600 block of Oak Grove Road in Batesville around 12:30 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway on a curve and went into a ditch, according to a state police report.
The 2005 Mercury Mariner she was driving overturned, and Carter was thrown out, the report said.
The weather was clear and roads were dry at the time of the crash, police reported.
