TUESDAY UPDATE:

Authorities have identified two men who were shot during a reported fight Monday afternoon in Hot Springs.

The city's Police Department said 24-year-old Jonathan Mason and 25-year-old Jordan Welsh, both of Hot Springs, remain hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday.

Demarion Banks, 25, was arrested on two counts of first-degree battery and five counts of aggravated assault, according to a news release.

Police said that Banks pulled out a gun during a fight with the two men and shot them. He pointed the gun at people nearby and shot at a third individual, the release states. The third person shot back, and Banks drove to the Police Department, authorities said.

A Hot Springs man was arrested after he shot two people during a fight Monday afternoon, then pointed a gun at several bystanders, according to a news release.

Demarion Banks, 25, was arrested on two counts of first-degree battery and five counts of aggravated assault, according to a Hot Springs Police Department news release.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Tire Express located at 635 East Grand Ave. shortly before 4 p.m., where they found two people with gunshot wounds, the release states. Around the same time, Banks arrived at the police department, authorities said.

Police said that Banks pulled out a gun during a fight with the two victims and shot them. He pointed the gun at people nearby and shot at a third person, according to the release. The third person shot back, and Banks drove to the police department, the release shows.

Authorities did not identify the shooting victims, who were both white males, but said they were in critical condition at a local hospital.

Banks was being held in the Garland County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond Monday evening, police said.
