A Bella Vista man died after he was struck by a vehicle Friday morning on Interstate 49, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly before 10:45 a.m. near Bentonville.
John L. Ingels, 83, was crossing the interstate when he was hit by a 1995 Toyota headed north, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police. Ingels was trying to get a chair that had fallen from his vehicle, the report said.
State police said the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
